Joseph Raleigh, DVM (Residency Trained), is a veterinary surgeon at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group (VMSG) in Ventura.
Dr. Joseph Raleigh obtained his bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis. He subsequently completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
Upon completion of his internship, Dr. Raleigh returned to UC Davis for a residency in small animal surgery. Dr. Raleigh's clinical expertise includes both soft tissue (urogenital, abdominal, thoracic, and oncologic procedures) and orthopedic surgery (TPLO, fracture repair, and joint disease).
He has a strong interest in minimally invasive procedures including arthroscopy, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy. He has an active and diverse research background involving both orthopedic and soft tissue studies, with a particular interest in surgical oncology.
He has also authored book chapters on minimally invasive and gastrointestinal surgery. He is excited to offer innovative surgical procedures that will help improve the outcome of his patients.
In his free time, Dr. Raleigh enjoys being outdoors with his wife, son, and overly energetic labradoodle, Olive. He is also an avid sports fan and strong supporter of the Dodgers and Lakers. Dr. Raleigh grew up just down the road in Thousand Oaks and still has family nearby. He is excited to be back home and to join the VMSG team!
