Dr. Amy Rhoades

Dr. Amy Rhoades, a native of Southern California, attended the University of California, Davis where she received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She then received her veterinary degree from the University of California, Davis in 2007, followed by a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Ohio State University in 2008. Dr. Rhoades is very excited to have joined VMSG following completion of her residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at University of California, Davis and becoming board certified in 2011.
Her professional interests include infectious, respiratory, and immune-mediated diseases, with a specific interest in canine immune-mediated polyarthritis. However she enjoys all cases related to internal medicine. She published a retrospective study on bronchoscopic recovery of airway foreign bodies in dogs and cats and is currently completing a prospective study on immune-mediated polyarthritis in dogs. She also enjoys procedures including endoscopy and bronchoscopy. Her personal interests include running, yoga, cooking, wine tasting and spending time with her family. She shares a household with three cats, Cash, Tango and Petey, her dog Baxter and her “Big Red Dog”, her retired Quarter Horse, Killian.
