Specialist Doctors
At Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group, all our staff veterinarians are Board Certified, ensuring the best care for your pet. These veterinarians are Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, the American College of Veterinary Radiology, the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine - Oncology, and the American College of Veterinary Radiology - Radiation Oncology. This means that following the four years of veterinary training and attainment of a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, the VMSG staff veterinarians have been through an additional four years of intensive specialized training at an accredited institution. In addition to the accredited training, the demonstration of meaningful contributions to veterinary science and satisfactory completion of a comprehensive three part examination is required to be Board Certified.

Interns
Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group is home to a highly competitive post-graduate internship training program, certified by the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). VMSG admits only eight veterinarians who have graduated at the top of their respective Veterinary Schools. These Intern Doctors apply and are placed though the facility working in intimate association with our staff specialists. These highly competent doctors provide 24 hour critical care to all hospitalized patients and are never more than a cell phone call away from a staff specialist.
